As part of our commitment at the Badagry Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (BACCIMA) to promote trade, investment, technology, and regional economic integration, a BACCIMA delegation paid a courtesy visit to the Nigeria High Commission in Kigali, Rwanda.
The delegation was led by Engr. Seton M. Senu, FITD, Director General, BACCIMA, and included Mr. Laja Shoniran, Author of AI for Everyday People, and Mr. Oluwasegun Akinyanmi, Chief Technology Officer of SO TECHAFRICA LTD.
We were warmly received by Ambassador Ibrahim Zanna, Acting High Commissioner of Nigeria to Rwanda, alongside Mr. Akande Oluwaseun, Head of Chancery, and Dr. Abdullahi Lawal Kanoma.
The engagement provided a valuable platform to discuss opportunities for strengthening commercial and economic relations between Nigeria and Rwanda, with a focus on trade, investment, technology, innovation, tourism, and cross-border business collaboration.
During the interactive session, Ambassador Ibrahim Zanna highlighted Rwanda’s remarkable transformation into one of Africa’s most business-friendly economies. He emphasized the country’s efficient governance, clean environment, ease of doing business, digital innovation, and investment-friendly policies. While acknowledging Nigeria’s entrepreneurial strength and vast market, he noted that Nigerians have much to learn from Rwanda’s discipline, efficiency, and development model.
The Acting High Commissioner also encouraged Nigerians living in or visiting Rwanda to be exemplary ambassadors of their country by obeying the laws of the host nation, respecting local customs, and conducting their businesses with integrity and professionalism. He reaffirmed the High Commission’s commitment to supporting legitimate Nigerian businesses and fostering stronger bilateral trade and investment relations.ronment where businesses can thrive.
A major highlight of the visit was the presentation of the book “AI for Everyday People” by Mr. Laja Shoniran to the Nigeria High Commission. The book is aimed at simplifying Artificial Intelligence and empowering individuals, businesses, and professionals to understand and leverage AI for productivity, innovation, and growth.
The delegation also showcased some of the innovative solutions being championed by SO TECHAFRICA LTD, including:
🔹 Afriquote – a digital platform designed to enhance business connections, quotations, and trade opportunities across Africa, helping businesses discover and engage with new markets.
🔹 Exhibitors Success Platform (ESP) – an innovative platform developed to help exhibitors maximize their participation at trade fairs and exhibitions through better visibility, networking, lead management, and business opportunities before, during, and after events.
These solutions align with the vision of promoting digital transformation, strengthening SMEs, and creating efficient platforms that support African businesses in the era of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
