The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) engaged a delegation from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) on strengthening Nigeria’s business environment, investment facilitation, SME development and private-sector participation in economic reforms. The delegation was received on behalf of NACCIMA National President, Eng. Jani Ibrahim, mni, OON, by Alhaji Yahaya Idris Oladiran, National Vice President, NACCIMA.
Discussions focused on key challenges confronting businesses, including regulatory overlaps, business registration and licensing, labour rights, child labour, insecurity and corruption. NACCIMA called for simpler and more coordinated business registration and compliance processes involving the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), and state and local government authorities.

NACCIMA also highlighted its programmes supporting SMEs, skills development and young people, including initiatives of the NACCIMA Foundation and NACCIMA TVET Programme. The Association stressed the importance of capacity building, access-to-finance linkages, market access, digitalisation, export development and value-chain integration in strengthening the competitiveness of Nigerian businesses.

The meeting further underscored the need for stronger collaboration among NACCIMA, government agencies, financial institutions, investors and development partners. Particular emphasis was placed on collaboration with the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) and the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) to advance investment facilitation, regulatory reform, investor linkages, policy feedback and business-environment advocacy.
Key Outcomes
