As part of the ongoing
consultations for the forthcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Badagry
Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (BACCIMA), scheduled for
June 28, 2024, a delegation led by Director-General Mr. Emmanuel Essien paid a
courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty, OBA Oyekan Adekanmi Ajose Possi, The Alapa
of Egun-Awori Kingdom.
During the visit, His Royal Majesty praised the tremendous work that BACCIMA has done in promoting trade and investment in Badagry. He lauded the Chamber's efforts as pivotal in driving economic growth and pledged his full support both in cash and kind. His Royal Majesty also committed to mobilizing additional donors to bolster the Chamber’s initiatives, emphasizing that BACCIMA is a beacon of hope for Badagry to reclaim its position among developed societies, particularly in terms of infrastructural development.
Director-General Essien, speaking on behalf of the President and Chairman of the Executive Council, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Royal Father for his unwavering support. He conveyed the President’s eagerness to collaborate closely with His Royal Majesty for the advancement of Badagry, especially following the upcoming inauguration.
The delegation accompanying Mr. Essien included notable figures such as Ambassador Nicky Maxwell, Mr. Olabusoye Olaleru, and Mr. Ayodele Goboze. They all expressed their appreciation for the warm reception and the Royal Father’s continuous support for BACCIMA's mission.
The visit underscored the strong partnership between BACCIMA and the Egun-Awori Kingdom, setting a collaborative tone for the upcoming AGM. This meeting is expected to be a pivotal event, gathering key stakeholders to engage in strategic discussions and planning for the future development of Badagry.
