The Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of the Guardian newspaper, Mr. Martins Oloja, welcomes the President/Chairman Executive Council of the Badagry Chamber of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture (BACCIMA) to their head office at RUTAM House, Lagos.
He appreciates BACCIMA for coming and hopes to build a good working relationship towards having a symbiotic relationship. he shed light on the challenges in the cost of doing business and hopes there can be a permanent solution to the epileptic power supply in the Nation.
He notes that the Badagry Expressway has affected the business community in the region that has also contributed to the lack of investment pouring into the region.
The President of BACCIMA, Alhaji Fatai Adegboyega Shokunbi, appreciates the warm welcome by the Guardian Newspaper and reiterates his commitment to the working relationship between the Guardian Newspaper and the Chamber.
Mr. Emmanuel Essien, the Director-General of BACCIMA, told the audience about the establishment of the Chamber after the first Badagry economic summit in 2017. The impact the Chamber have made in the last five years of its establishment after the liscense by National Association of Chambers of Commerce Industry Mines and Agticulture (NACCIMA) to operate as a City-Chamber were highlighted.
The Chamber has been rated by the NACCIMA as one of the most active City-Chambers in Nigeria.
The ratings was as a result of the numerous projects the Chamber has been promoting to gain economic traction in its area of jurisdiction.
Highlights of the DG's presentations on the achievements were
i. The Nigeria-Benin Joint Commission,
ii. The Small Scale Informal Cross Border Trade
iii. The Badagry Industrial Park
He revealed that the numerous projects are attracting positive investment interests and partnership which would result in the growth of the local economy of the region and the Nation at large.
Finally the Guardian Newspaper and the BACCIMA agreed to work symbiotically to project the good works of the Chamber towards the economic growth of the Badagry region of Lagos State.
Also at the meeting were top executives of the Chamber, DCG. Abiodun Hundeyin, Mss. Olubukola Agemo, Engr. Senu Seton, Mrs. Adenike Alade, Mrs. Nicky Maxwell and Mrs. Grace Laguda.
