Historic Meeting of BACCIMA's President with Badagry Nation Custodians
Badagry, Lagos State - March 10, 2024

In a momentous gathering, Alhaji Fatai Adegboyega Shokunbi, President/Chairman Executive Council of the Badagry Chamber of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture (BACCIMA), convened a meeting with distinguished Royal Majesties from ten Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas in Lagos State.

The eminent Royal Majesties in attendance included Oba Abiodun Patinvoh, Aholu of Yafin Kingdom; Aholu Nunayon Awogbemi, Travil Tosavi 1 of Akarakumo kingdom; Jimoh Fabiyi De-Ovitotode Toyi I, Aholu Sano of Ikoga-Zebbe Kingdom; Oba Abraham Olatunji Ogabi, The Ajagun of Imeke Kingdom; Aholu Saheed Sedonu Adamson, The Aholu of Ajido Kingdom; Oba Olatunde Friday Kosoko JP, The Oniworo of Iworo kingdom; OBA Oyekan Adekanmi Ajose Possi, The Alapa of Egun-Awori Kingdom, Apa, Badagry; and De Wheno Aholu Menu Toyi 1, The Akran of Badagry Kingdom.

In his welcome address, President Alhaji Fatai Shokunbi emphasized the significance of the meeting in establishing a robust framework for BACCIMA's governance. He highlighted the Board of Trustees formation as a pivotal step towards transparency, accountability, and inclusivity in decision-making for the benefit of the Badagry Nation.

His Royal Majesty, Oba Friday Oladele Kosoko, expressed his admiration for BACCIMA's achievements, pledging to contribute to the Chamber's growth and Badagry's development. He further states that the President has done very well and he has to stay on in his position for stability and continous growth of the Chamber. He said the piece of land donated by His Royal Majesty the Akran of Badagry must be looked into immediately for development.

The Director-General, Mr. Emmanuel Essien, elucidated the constitutional provisions for the Board of Trustees, emphasizing their role in advising, mediating conflicts, and overseeing the chamber's well-being. Notable attendees included the Second Deputy President, Mr. Sewanu Ashamu Fadipe, and key members of the Executive Council that includes Hon. Jacob Kentomahun, Mr. Ben Sedonu, Mss. Bukola Agemo, Ambassador Nicky Maxwell- Pioneer Women Leader and Mrs. Akoro- Interim Women Secretary.

This historic meeting sets the stage for collaborative efforts between BACCIMA and the esteemed Royal Majesties to unlock Badagry's economic potential and foster sustainable development.
