At an Emergency General Meeting held on August 21, 2024, the Badagry Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (BACCIMA) elected Chief (Dr.) Samuel Hundogan as the Chairman of the Interim Committee. This committee will oversee the affairs of the Chamber until elections are conducted for the positions of President, First Vice President, and Second Vice President within the next two months. Other members of the Committee includes Honorable Jacob Kentomahun and DCG Towanu Abiodun Hundeyin Rtd.
This election marks a historic moment for BACCIMA, as it will be the first time the Chamber has conducted elections for its leadership positions since its establishment in 2017. Since joining the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA) in 2018, BACCIMA has not held an election, making this a significant milestone in the Chamber's development.
The decision to elect an interim chairman and subsequently hold elections was made to ensure that the Chamber operates in a transparent and constitutional manner. The interim committee, led by Chief (Dr.) Hundogan, is tasked with managing the Chamber’s activities during this transitional period, setting the stage for a more democratic leadership process within BACCIMA.
