The Badagry Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (BACCIMA) delegation, led by its President who also doubles as the National Vice President of the National Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Alhaji Yahaya Oladiran Idris paid a working visit to the Management Board of the Nigerian International Trade Fair ( NITF) Complex.

During the visit, the President conveyed warm greetings from the Chamber to the Chief Executive Officer of the Trade Fair Complex, Barrister (Mrs) Vera Ndanusa and her Management team.
He expressed gratitude to God and appreciated the Chief Executive Officer for her warm reception and the support she has extended to BACCIMA in recent times. He gave a detailed explanation of the Chamber’s upcoming trade fair and stated their intention to host the event at the Nigerian International Trade Fair Complex from May 8th to 18th, 2026.
He explained that the purpose of the visit was to seek the trade fair Management support and partnership for the BACCIMA trade fair, to build a strategic support from the Federal Ministry of industry, Trade and Investment (FMITI), information on costs, plans, Light, budgets, and the allocation of square space, as well as other relevant considerations such as security and facilities necessary for the effective hosting of the trade fair.

As parts of the efforts for greater collaborative projects /efforts to make sure the the NITF regain its lost glory that was noted for in the ’70s to ’80s, Alhaji Yahaya stated that the National President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture ((NACCIMA), Engr.(Dr) Jani Ibrahim, who also is the current Chairman of Organised Private Sector of Nigeria( OPSN) has constituted a committee to make sure that NACCIMA and NITF work together for regular trade fair events at the complex which the Executive Director greatly appreciated.

In her response, the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian International Trade Fair Complex, Barrister Vera Ndanusi, expressed gratitude to God for the long-awaited partnership and encouraged BACCIMA to see the Trade Fair Complex as their home.

She assured the delegation that the management would do everything within their capacity to support the Chamber and ensure the success of the trade fair.
She advised the Chamber to always communicate their needs, assuring them that the management would do their best to allocate the required space. She noted that since this would be the first time BACCIMA would be hosting such a trade fair, the management board would be considerate and reasonable with the cost. She further stated that lighting would be provided for a token fee.

Barr. Ndanusi also explained that if the Chamber desired full power backup, the Complex could provide generators and diesel throughout the duration of the trade fair to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply whenever the national grid fails, at an agreed cost. She mentioned that she had already been giving the Chamber free publicity during her recent meetings with UNDP and Japan, and advised that they should officially write to invite these organizations to the trade fair.

She commended BACCIMA President, Alhaji Yahaya Oladiran Idris and BACCIMA for remaining active and influential even after the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has pulled majority of active business activities in Lagos.
She posited that if a need arises for ad-hoc staff for the trade fair she would recommend suitable personnel’s from the Trade Fair Complex management.

On security, she assured the delegation that it would not be an issue, as the Complex already has an adequate security structure in place. She further highlighted additional benefits of the Complex, including the provision of water and other essential facilities.

She advised that the Chamber should formally write to relevant stakeholders of the trade fair, assuring them that she would personally follow up.
She supported and encouraged BACCIMA to invite the Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) to attend the trade fair with their business communities.
She commended BACCIMA for the inclusion of the Youths, will definitely take over the mantle of leadership of the Chamber tomorrow on the entourage.

The meeting ended with the setting up of Technical Committees on both sides to see to the successful hosting of BACCIMA 2026 trade fair.

Thereafter, a group photographs between the BACCIMA delegation and the management of the Nigerian International Trade Fair Complex, after which the members of the trade fair complex technical committee led by the Director took the BACCIMA delegation to tour the Complex facilities and space.
