The President of the Badagry Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture and National Vice President of NACCIMA on International Development, Alhaji Yahaya Idris Oladiran led a seven (7) man delegation from the Chamber on a ‘Thank You’ courtesy visit to the Seme Area Command Comptroller of the Nigerian Customs Service, Abdullahi Kaila.
The courtesy visit which took place at the Administrative block of the Nigerian Customs Service Seme Border came up on Friday 4th September 2026. The purpose of the visit was to appreciate the Comptorller’s goodwill and supports during the first BACCIMA Trade Fair which was held at the International Trade fair Complex Lagos between 8th of May to 17th of May 2026.
While speaking on behalf of the Chamber, Alhaji Yahaya Idris expressed the gratitude of the Chamber for the technical support received from the Comptroller General of Customs (CGC) Dr Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, PSC(+) through the ACG M. Babadede, the Zone A Zonal Coordinator.


BACCIMA President stated that the strategic support and high level delegation to the opening ceremoney of the Trade Fair was a great honour to BACCIMA and the developmental work of promoting Cross Border trade among business practitioners and the Service.
Alhaji Yahaya stated further that BACCIMA has always supported the work of the Nigerian Customs Service via advocacy, strategic campaign and education of her members and the general public on ease of doing business through unflinching compliance with the government regulations championed by the Customs and other government agencies on the border line.
In his response, Comptroller Abdullahi kaila said that trade has become the ‘high point’ priority to the present government as well as global community, and as a result, efforts must be made to ensure that the bottleneck attached to movement of goods across the borders are redused significantly to ensure increase in trade which leads to more revenue not just for the government but for traders who are the primary factors in the economic and financial eco-system.
He then promised to support every efforts the Chamber is putting in place to promote trade facilitation between Nigeria and other West African countries along Lagos-Abidjan corridor.
Comptroller Kaila eschew the quality of Alhaji Yahaya Idris who he described as his role model, a leader and kind dutiful officer while he was in service as a Custom officer and Deputy Comptroller until his retirement. He said he was overwhelmed by Alhaji Yahaya’s dedication, commitment to nation building and warmth towards those who served under him. He said he would continue to collaborate with the BACCIMA president on his vision for trade development in the country through BACCIMA efforts.

The Director-General of BACCIMA Engr. Senu Seton joined in thanking Comptroller Kaila for his excellent service delivery since inception of office and extended gratitude to the entire Seme Command for the good work they are doing.
He used the occasion to inform the CAC about the BACCIMA forth coming Capacity building lecture that’s coming up between September 15th to 17th at Star Rise Golden Hotel, Ajara Agelaso. He pleaded with the Controller to send some officers to deliver lecture on…TRADE BEYOND BORDERS: Building a Visible, Tradable and Fundable Business.
In his contribution, Chief Dr Samuel Hundogan imployed the Comptroller to be BACCIMA Guest on the inauguration day of the New President who is taking over from Alhaji Yahaya by October.
The CAC responded in affirmative to be there.
The Second Deputy of BACCIMA Mrs. Ngozi Modebelu in her closing remarks said BACCIMA will still knock on the door of the Comptroller as the good work he is already doing must continue in the spirit of collaboration for national development.





The delegation then presented awards of Excellence and letters of appreciation to the CGC through Compt. Kaila who was also given an award and appreciation letter for the good work he is doing and community working relationships at Seme joint border post.
In the same vein, the delegation also visited Only God is Wise Logistics Chairman, Alhaji Mubashiru Adetona in his Export terminal to thank him for his immense financial support to BACCIMA during the 2026 trade fair.
The President, Alhaji Yahaya commended Alhaji Adetona’s total commitments and unwavering support to the growth of the Chamber as a financial member, who has been in forefront of the survival of the Chamber.

The President and the delegations were impressed with the level of development and compliant to Customs procedures when the Terminal Manager, Mr Adetona took the team round the terminal at Seme.
The delegation met with the terminal Customs officers, who also expressed their appreciation to the President and his team for taking out time to visit the terminal. The Customs officer in charge briefed the BACCIMA team about their operations at the terminal and the compliance level of the terminal operations
The President, Yahaya praised Alhaji Mubashiru Adetona for the high level of his terminal compliance with Customs operations and procedures.
“This is a compliance terminal, I am highly impressed with all the examination equipment, B’Odogwu connectivity, the security network of the terminal and the big space provided by the terminal operator for examination, the man deserves encouragement” ” , said the President.
