Hunpe endorses Badagry Day at BACCIMA Trade Fair 2026

The BACCIMA delegation paid a strategic courtesy visit to the Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Hon. Babatunde Hunpe, on Monday, 23rd February 2026. The meeting was highly productive and aligned with the Chamber’s ongoing efforts to strengthen relationships with key government stakeholders and secure institutional support for its initiatives.

During the meeting, the delegation led by the 1st Deputy President, Mr. Ashamu Fadipe, formally presented the purpose of the visit, outlining BACCIMA’s core objectives and its commitment to promoting commerce, trade, and industrial development within Badagry and beyond. Particular emphasis was placed on the forthcoming BACCIMA Trade Fair coming up May 8th-17th 2026, highlighting its potential to boost local economic activities, attract investors, and create opportunities for businesses within the region.

In recognition of the Chairman’s notable contributions and positive impact on commerce, trade, and industry in Nigeria, the delegation presented him with an award plaque. The Chairman received the honor warmly and expressed sincere appreciation to the Chamber for the recognition.

In his response, Hon. Babatunde Hunpe commended BACCIMA for its proactive efforts and pledged his support towards the success of the upcoming trade fair. Notably, he agreed to facilitate the organization of a “Badagry Day” as part of the event, an initiative aimed at showcasing the rich cultural heritage, economic potential, and unique identity of Badagry to a wider audience. He further assured the delegation of his willingness to provide support in any capacity necessary to ensure the success of the Chamber’s programs.

The visit concluded with a brief photo session to commemorate the engagement. Thereafter, the BACCIMA delegation departed the Chairman’s office, expressing optimism about the strengthened partnership and the positive outcomes anticipated from the collaboration.
