The Badagry Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines & Agriculture (BACCIMA) joined industry leaders, agribusiness stakeholders, and cultural enthusiasts at the 12th International Coconut Festival, a flagship event organised by Africoco, under the leadership of Mr. Mesi Doheto.

The festival, known for promoting the economic, cultural, and nutritional value of coconut within the West African sub-region, featured exhibitions, workshops, and discussions aimed at expanding the coconut value chain.
Strengthening Agricultural Trade & Value Chain Development

BACCIMA’s presence at the festival underscores the Chamber’s commitment to supporting agro-based industries and strengthening opportunities in the coconut value chain—one of Badagry’s most promising economic assets.
The event highlighted:
- The role of coconut farming in boosting rural income
- Opportunities in processing, packaging, and export
- The need for private-public partnerships to scale production
- Cultural expressions showcasing the heritage of the Badagry axis
BACCIMA representatives engaged exhibitors, innovators, and investors on ways to deepen collaboration, improve product quality, and expand market access for coconut-based enterprises.

Driving Economic Growth Through Partnerships
BACCIMA commended Africoco and Mr. Mesi Doheto for continually advancing the coconut sector and positioning Badagry as a hub for coconut value-chain development. The Chamber reiterated its support for programmes that create jobs, empower local farmers, and encourage youth participation in agribusiness.
